It's cold outside, but Tanner, Steve, and Jordan are fired up in the Dabbler Depot studio for another episode of Northern Lights! First, join us for a game we're calling Word Salad Strain Name! With a mix of random words, we craft outrageous cannabis strain names like “Caribou Cookies” and imagine their flavor, aroma, and effects. Which will reign supreme?

Then the crew then tackles the newly proposed expedited OCM rules, including the controversial 70% THC cap, medical vs. adult-use tracking systems, and more. What do these changes mean for consumers, craft producers, and the future of Minnesota’s cannabis industry? Spoiler: the team has opinions.

Next, Tanner is joined by Toph (@firebeards), a local cultivator and solventless processor, to discuss the impacts of the 70% THC cap on craft businesses and consumers. Using a clear juice analogy, Toph explains why the cap doesn’t make sense and what it could mean for innovation in the industry.
